Ecto website hero: “Decision support for aquaculture”, with a data-fusion diagram

From the field to analytics

Navigation got clearer, the team moves faster, and design and dev take less time. A farm runs hundreds of recurring jobs: feed, medication, welfare checks, mortality. They are hard to log in the field and harder to make sense of afterwards. The interface and the brand had fallen behind the product.

The jobs table pivots by team, status or site, stores saved views, and switches accounts and roles in the same place. A rules engine runs the chain: close one job and the next one opens, a barn check triggers a feed repair, and conditions, assignment and scheduling are set in the builder. A mobile app logs data in the field, and a web app runs the analytics: job performance, site benchmarking, monitoring and alerts.

Farm workers use the product and read the screen out in the field, so we pushed contrast and brightness up, kept text large, and added a dark theme. We rebuilt the mobile UX with the product and dev teams, cleared technical debt and moved to native patterns. We rebuilt the site with the sales and business teams, with content structured by industry, use case and solution. We worked on a subscription, fixed hours a week: a new concept, a new site on Webflow, a full rebrand.

This is where we grew from a single contractor into a team. Over that period Ecto raised a $7M round.
